Boatshed Dive and Snorkel Charters
Boatshed Dive & Snorkel is run by a born & bred gold Coaster with an abundance of local dive & boating experience. His vision is to build a community of local divers who love exploring the ocean as much as he does.

We do our best to take care of our environment and sea life when we go diving or snorkelling, discouraging the touching of marine creatures and collecting any souvenirs. We encourage the collection of rubbish to be disposed of on shore.
A nature reserve established in 1998, just off the coast of Fingal NSW, it boasts a wide variety of turtles, sharks, rays, fish, crustaceans & molluscs that call it home or visit the island annually. There are 13 moorings located around the island, which offer dives to suit all levels.
Just beyond Cook Island & on its’ day, possibly the premier dive site on the Gold Coast. With depths up to 24m, it is a site for advanced or above Open Water divers. Regular sightings of large congregations of grey nurse sharks in winter & leopard sharks & pelagic fish in summer make it an exciting spot to dive. Prone to strong currents & exposed to elements, unfortunately it can only be dived in certain conditions.
At only 8m deep, Kirra Reef is a very small patch of Reef close to the beach & ideal for beginners, training & snorkelling. But don’t be fooled by the shallow depth & small size! It hosts impressive amounts of fish, a variety of other marine life & is perfect for long bottom times & photography practice.
Covering a large area just offshore, between 11th & 21st Ave Palm Beach, it is the largest area of reef on the Gold Coast. Depths vary from 6m to 25m over the different parts of the reef. This reef holds large amounts of pelagic fish, such as Spotted & Spanish Mackerel during the summer months & is popular with the spearers.
Gold Coast City Council recently completed the construction of an artificial reef just off 19th Ave, which offers excellent snorkelling opportunities.
The Scottish Prince is the best known of the Gold Coast wrecks, but the SS Alberta, SS Fido, FV Aquariun & the Cambus Wallace are also located in Gold Coast Waters. Paul, our skipper/divemaster has dived each of these sites & is looking forward to getting groups of keen divers together to explore them further. Check out his article “Ships & Shipwrecks of the Gold Coast” for a greater insight to these wreck sites.
